Recently, at the National Municipal Engineering Quality Management Group Activity Results Exchange Conference 2024, the project "Improving the First Time Acceptance Rate of TRD Construction Method Pile Construction Quality of Inserted Steel" for the Xingci Eighth Road Expressway Tunnel Section in the Qianwan New Area, Ningbo was awarded the first prize of National Municipal Engineering.
It is reported that TRD construction method, also known as equal thickness cement soil mixing continuous wall construction method, is a complex new technology that can provide excellent guarantee for waterproofing of deep foundation retaining structures, improve on-site construction quality and efficiency, save construction costs, and have a good guiding role in the industry.
Enjoy sceneries on both sides along the way! The Xingci Eighth Road Expressway is located between the industrial and new city areas of the Qianwan New Area, with a total length of 6.5 kilometers. It has newly built elevated roads, tunnels, and ground roads, connecting important landmarks such as the Qianwan New Town, the Ningbo Childhood Education College, the Automobile College, and the Geely Automobile Research Institute along the route. Currently, the tunnel section of the Xingci Eighth Expressway (Jinci Road - Binhai Fifth Road) has completed 65% of its visual progress, and the elevated section (Zhongxing First Road - Jinci Road) has completed 27% of its visual progress.
Good things come in pairs, and there is also good news from another expressway - Xingci Avenue Expressway. The project "Improving the First Time Acceptance Rate of Cross River Steel Trestle Bridge" won the third prize of National Municipal Engineering and the first prize of Zhejiang Provincial Municipal Engineering. The temporary steel trestle bridge project is an important construction measure for bridge construction. The Xingci Avenue Expressway analyzes and studies the problems existing in the construction of temporary steel trestle bridge, and proposes corresponding solutions to improve the quality of temporary steel trestle bridge and promote the development of municipal bridge construction.
As an extension of Shenglu Elevated Road, the Xingci Avenue Expressway starts from the Xinpu Interchange of Shenyang–Haikou Expressway in the south and ends at the Cizhou Road in the north, with a total length of 10.3 kilometers. The new elevated road and ground auxiliary road will be renovated in two phases. Among them, the construction of the first phase of the Xinpu Interchange of Shenyang–Haikou Expressway to the Binhai Second Road has been implemented, with a current completion rate of 41%.
Rapid construction of expressways! As an important transportation channel in the Qianwan New Area and areas of Yuyao and Cixi, the construction of the 228 National Highway from Andong to Lizhou in Yuyao (Zhongxing First Road of Yuci Avenue - the North Ring Road of the city), which started in the second half of this year, is also in full swing. Among them, the Qianwan New Area section starts from the Zhongxing First Road, connects with the Xingci Eighth Road Expressway, and ends at the north side of Cixi City North Ring Road, with a total length of about 5.6 kilometers. The current completion progress is 10%, and it is expected to be completed and put into use in 2027. After completion, it will further enhance the comprehensive transportation construction level of the Qianwan New Area and improve the provincial and national highway network in the Ningbo City.
