Recently, with the successful replacement of switches on Pole 40 of Weinan B548 Line and Pole 40 of Weibei B555 Line in Andong, Qianwan New Area, the State Grid Ningbo Hangwan Power Supply Branch has completed the smart switch replacement on 11 utility poles along 10kV lines including Haiyun B563, Fufu B562, and Hua’nan B383 in the Chongshou Town and the Andong Town. This significantly enhances the intelligence and automation level of the New Area's power grid.

The newly installed smart switches feature multi-level protection with auto-reclosing functionality. When branch line faults are detected, they can quickly locate the fault range, accurately isolate the affected section, and assist repair crews in rapid power restoration. This will effectively improve grid operation flexibility, safety, and intelligence, enabling dispatchers and maintenance personnel to better monitor distribution network status and enhance power supply reliability.

At the worksite, construction personnel worked efficiently under tight schedules. Multiple live-line workers wearing insulated capes operated from designated positions, using insulated bucket trucks to reach work areas for tasks like insulating live equipment, connecting switch jumper wires, and securing equipment clamps.

To minimize customer outage impact, the Hangwan Power Supply Branch collaborated with the Ningbo Power Transmission and Transformation Construction Co., Ltd.'s Live-Line Work Division to optimize the construction plan. After joint surveys at 9 work locations, they adopted a concentrated live-line work approach, completing all 11 smart switch installations within two days.

"In the next phase, we will continue advancing grid automation and intelligent construction, gradually expanding smart switch coverage to meet growing regional demands. This will solidify the power grid's safety foundation and ensure reliable electricity supply during peak summer periods," stated a relevant official from the Hangwan Power Supply Branch.
